Communication Interface & Protocols

Modbus TCP is the Modbus RTU protocol with a TCP/IP interface that runs on Ethernet. It has since become an industry standard method for the transfer of discrete/analog I/O information and register data between master devices and monitoring devices.
Industrial Ethernet
With the advent of the fourth industrial revolution and the rise of the IoT concept, previously separate networking for device, control, and information need to be integrated into one network. Industrial Ethernet allows construction of integrated networks in industrial sites with high transmission speed, real-time control, and high compatibility.
Modbus RTU is an open serial protocol derived from the Master/Slave architecture. It is a widely accepted serial level protocol due to its ease of use and reliability. Modbus RTU is widely used within Building Management Systems (BMS) and Industrial Automation Systems (IAS).
Fieldbus
Fieldbus is an industrial network that transmits the data of the sensor, controller, and output of industrial automation system in a reliable and noise-resistant form. Due to the advantage of digital method, large signals can be transmitted over a long distance compared to the existing analog communication. Easier installation in possible because a single network line can be used instead of multiple cables for each field device or input/output module.
